Winter Recipe

This is the cold season in Australia and everyone tend to be more vulnerable to a sore throat, to get a flu or to lower energy levels due to a great amount of laziness. Winter is not very fun and people spend more time indoors than outdoors. Most of the places have a heater or air conditioner on to keep the environment warm, however most of the times we get in and out of the car the weather is not very pleasant and we have to cross very windy and wet areas. The body temperature changes very rapidly from one warm place to another freezing environment and this is one of the causes why adults and children get a cold in winter.
Tips to prevent the Flu:
Eat fruit and vegetables at least once a day. Take your vitamins and minerals everyday. It will not only prevent the flu but also maintain energy levels high!

  • Multi-vitamin
  • Echinacea
  • Olive Leaf
  • Zinc
  • Vitamin C
  • Chlorella
  • Vital greens
  • Berries
Keep yourself warm. Hot herbal teas are also a great choice:
  • Lemon grass tea
  • Ginger tea
  • Green tea
  • Ginseng tea
  • Echinacea tea
Drink caffeine and alcohol in moderation. A glass of wine is fine and 1 coffee a day is enough.
Exercise regularly. Make sure you stretch your body in winter. Most of the muscular tensions happen in the cold weather when the body is very stiff and tense. Yoga and Pilates are the best option. Magnesium and Calcium taken together act as a muscle relaxant.
Epsom salt bath is a relaxing and excellent idea that will also reduce tension in the muscles and remove the toxins from the body which cause stress and lead to physical and emotional imbalance.
Go on a detox every six months. To find out more about Detox check this link:
